A woman with curly blonde hair wearing a gray long-sleeve shirt and a blue apron is mixing cookie dough in a stand mixer on a wooden kitchen counter. There is a baking sheet with cookie dough rounds, a bowl of flour, and a jar of chocolate chips. The kitchen has a window, wooden cabinets, and shelves with books and mugs.

A wee taste of home, baked with love.

Our little story…

Braid & Butter began with something very close to home.

Being gluten free myself, with other gluten-free family members too, I know just how difficult it can be to find really good gluten-free baked treats locally. Too often, the options can feel limited — and finding a cookie or bake that tastes just as good as the “real thing” isn't always easy.

So, naturally, I started baking.

What began as baking treats for family quickly turned into hours spent in the kitchen, testing recipes, tweaking ingredients and trying again (and again!) until I found bakes that everyone genuinely loved — gluten free themselves or not.

Because I never wanted gluten free to mean missing out.

🍪 I wanted the gooey centres.
🍫 The big chunks of chocolate.
💛 The crunchy edges.
✨ And most importantly... the proper bakery taste.
